Zeteo

ζητέω - zeteo
to seek in order to find, to seek a thing, to seek [in order to find out] by thinking, meditating, reasoning, to enquire into, to seek after, seek for, aim at, strive after to seek i.e. require, demand,to crave, demand something from someone (Thayer and Smith)
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
The Greek word 'zeteo' is used 19 times in the church epistles  that are specifically addressed to us. 
1.     Ro 2:7 - To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:




2.     Ro 10:3 - For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and
going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

3.     Ro 10:20 - But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that
sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

4.     Ro 11:3 -Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they
seek my life.

5.     1Co 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks
seek after wisdom:

6.     1Co 4:2 - Moreover it is
required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

7-8.  1Co 7:27 - Art thou bound unto a wife?
seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.

9.     1Co 10:24 -
Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.

10.   1Co 10:33 - Even as I please all men in all things, not
seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

11.    1Co 13:5 - Doth not behave itself unseemly,
seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

12.    1Co 14:12 -Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts,
seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

13.     2Co 12:14 - Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; andI will not be burdensome to you: for I
seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

14.     2Co 13:3 - Since ye
seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.

15.    Ga 1:10 - For
do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men,I should not be the servant of Christ.

16.   Ga 2:17 - But if,
while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.


17.   Php 2:21 - For all
seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.

18.   Col 3:1 - If ye then be risen with Christ,
seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

19.   1Th 2:6 -Nor of men
sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.
